Tres Razas

Nice song expressing acknowledgement of the African, Taino, and Spanish 'races' that form the Puerto Rican people. Haha, how about that for my Taino ancestors.

  1. Nice, what's with the picture of your 'ancestor' as replacement for yours?

    1. That's my Auntie, and that former picture was not me but jazz drummer Max Roach. I felt it was time for a change. You know, keep it interesting and switch things up every now and then.

As for popularity, I would like to reach a wider audience, but I don't want to sell out on my eccentricities and scholarly interests. I'm weird, quirky, unusual, distinct, absurd, and ridiculous all at once, and attempting to popularize the blog will require losing some of that 'uniqueness' I cherish.

    2. Those traits sound perfect for a Black/Taino Adrian Mole like persona. Are you familiar with that character? I think Sue Townsend created him. If you believe yourself so wide of the norm, why do you think normal people will 'get you'? Don't you run the risk of attracting equally quirky types such as yours truly?

    3. You know I'm joking about the Taino stuff, right? It's possible, but based on what my Puerto Rican ancestors look like, I would guess they're mostly if not wholly European/Spanish. But hey, like so many 'whites' in Puerto Rico and Cuba, I wouldn't be surprised if we have a distant black grandmother or great-grandparent somewhere down that side of my ancestry, locked away in the closet!

No, I have not heard of him. Good point, I guess I gave up for the most part on having normal folks get this blog. They always say the posts are too long, the topics are too obscure or rooted in my own weird interests, etc. I think I like the quirky types, but wish I had more weird followers.
