Am I the only one who has realized how similar Major Lance's song "
Too Hot to Hold" is to Motown's "
Nowhere to Run" recorded by Martha & The Vandellas? They're too similar for it to merely be chance, also released in 1965. What I cannot figure out is which one was released first. Moreover, the main similarity is in the refrain by the female back-up vocalists and the bassline, leading me to think this is direct imitation of a Motown hit.
