Interested in this segment of Rassoul Labuchin's memories of Jacques-Stephen Alexis. In this extrait, he discusses the Taino and the Amerindian past of the island. Although I personally believe Alexis exaggerated their cultural legacy in today's Haitians, it is interesting nonetheless. Particularly interesting in relation to the character of Gonaibo in Alexis's famous novel.
