Enjoy a short enjoyable interview with V.S. Naipaul from a BBC radio program in 1980. Part of the Desert Island series, writers are asked a variety of questions about literature while sharing music and the few books they would bring with them if ever trapped on a remote island (the Bible and Shakespeare are always there). It's interesting to hear the musical tastes of a world traveler like Naipaul, and he reveals how important Hollywood was to him as a child (American movies were huge in Trinidad during his youth).
