We found this spirited rendition of "Poinciana" featuring Ahmad Jamal and Yusef Lateef irresistible. Like the famous older recording of Jamal, the drummer is fantastic here. Although not as subtle as Vernel Fournier, the funky, Latin-styled beat accentuates one of the strengths of the classic.
